Denial of service via nested array preallocation
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Netty RedisArrayAggregator allows remote attackers to exhaust application heap via crafted nested RESP array headers. AggregateState eagerly creates an ArrayList at every attacker-declared length, while independent element and depth limits fail to cap their multiplied backing capacity. Exposure requires RedisDecoder with RedisArrayAggregator to process untrusted RESP traffic; exhaustion can interrupt the hosting application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
