Worker crashes and property corruption via namespace overflow
Published Oct 1, 2026 · Updated Oct 1, 2026
Integer overflow in Apache HTTP Server mod_dav_fs through 2.4.68 lets remote authenticated users crash workers via WebDAV PROPPATCH requests. The module mishandles large numbers of XML namespace declarations during property processing, overflowing an integer and corrupting a directory's property database. Exploitation requires WebDAV write access to the affected directory; database corruption persists beyond a worker crash.
