CVE-2026-93544Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Client crash via malformed XIQueryDevice reply

Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in X.Org libXi before 1.8.4 allows remote attackers controlling an X server to crash clients via XIQueryDevice replies. The XI2 reply parser reads beyond the received reply buffer while decoding attacker-crafted device data returned for XIQueryDevice. An X client must connect to the malicious server and issue XIQueryDevice; the bounded reported consequence is termination of that client process.
