Namespace metadata tampering via privileged deployment agent

Published Sep 28, 2026 · Updated Sep 28, 2026

Incorrect authorization in SUSE Rancher Fleet 0.16.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter target namespace metadata via bundles. The namespaceLabels and namespaceAnnotations options cause the Fleet agent to update the target namespace with its own privileges rather than those of the bundle's pinned service account. Exposure requires a multi-tenant deployment with a pinned service account; operator-mode bundles do not cross this authorization boundary.
