Arbitrary command execution via unescaped server host

Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026

OS command injection in Spatie Scotty 1.4.0 through 1.4.4 allows remote attackers to execute commands via a crafted Scotty file. The Doctor command interpolates an unescaped @servers host into shell-form SSH strings passed to Process::fromShellCommandline(). Exploitation requires a victim to run scotty doctor on the attacker-influenced file, after which commands execute locally with that user's privileges.
