Subscriber-level post metadata manipulation via unguarded AJAX
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Improper authorization in WC Fields Factory before 4.1.11 allows remote authenticated users to alter arbitrary post metadata via AJAX. The field-management AJAX handler accepts create, update, and delete requests without enforcing shop-manager capability, validating a nonce, or limiting writes to the plugin's post type. Subscriber access is sufficient to alter metadata on any post, including WooCommerce pricing rules, enabling unauthorized checkout-price reductions.
