Stored XSS via unsanitized large SVG uploads
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Stored XSS in SveltyCMS 0.0.6 SVG uploads allows remote authenticated users to execute script when another user opens the stored file. The media service sanitized buffered SVGs smaller than 5 MiB but streamed larger SVGs directly to storage, letting script and event handlers bypass sanitizeSvg. Exploitation requires an authenticated media upload and a second user's interaction; successful script execution can modify content in that user's browser context.
