Unauthenticated comment disclosure via missing approval filter
Published Sep 30, 2026 · Updated Sep 30, 2026
Information disclosure in baserCMS before 5.3.1 and in 5.4.0 allows remote attackers to read pending blog comments through a public API. The public blog-comments list endpoint calls BlogCommentsService::getIndex(), which filters article publication status but not the comments' own approval status. No account is required; when pending comments exist, the response also exposes their contents and submitters' email addresses.
