Unauthenticated SQL injection via unprepared login-log query
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
SQL injection in travispluse Rename wp-login.php to anything you want 2.0.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to read database data. The failed-login handler places the WordPress log POST value into an existing SQL query without sufficient escaping or preparation after wp_unslash() removes backslashes. No authentication is required; a crafted username reaches the handler during a failed login and permits time-based extraction of sensitive database information.
