Author privilege escalation via unrestricted page fields
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Mass assignment in Bludit CMS 3.22.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with the Author role to alter privileged page fields. Pages::edit() copies every supplied dbFields member, including type and username, into the replacement page row without per-field authorization. Author access is required; exploitation can publish a page as a static site-wide entry or transfer its recorded ownership to an arbitrary account.
