BGP service crash via malformed labelled-VPN NLRI
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Improper input validation in MikroTik RouterOS before 7.25beta4 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to crash BGP with a malformed UPDATE. The labelled-VPN NLRI iterators accept a prefix length below the VPNv4 or VPNv6 minimum and derive a negative-length address portion from it. An attacker positioned on an established BGP path can repeatedly send one crafted UPDATE to terminate sessions without a NOTIFICATION and keep the BGP plane unavailable.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
