Daemon crash via disabled CDI device handling

Published Oct 5, 2026 · Updated Oct 5, 2026

Denial of service in Moby Project BuildKit before 0.33.1 allows remote authenticated users to crash buildkitd via CDI-device build requests. When CDI support is disabled, the daemon panics while handling a requested CDI device instead of rejecting a required device or ignoring an optional one. The condition requires an explicit CDI-disabled startup flag or TOML setting and access to submit a build; the crash interrupts builds sharing that daemon.
