ASMI service interruption via malformed HTTPS request
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Request-processing flaw in IBM Server Firmware ASMI allows remote attackers to crash the web server with a malformed HTTPS request. The ASMI web server does not safely reject malformed HTTPS input, causing a crash with possible memory corruption and creation of an error log. Unauthenticated access to the management network is required; ASMI restarts automatically, but repeated requests can sustain loss of the management interface.
