Security configuration modification by low-privilege administrators
Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Improper privilege management in IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5 and 9.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter security settings. IBM has not published the affected code locus or the improper authorization operation that permits the configuration change. A low-privilege administrative role is required, and the change can interrupt service; IBM separately reports information disclosure without identifying exposed data.
