Kernel crash via uninitialized clock parent fields
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
A NULL-pointer dereference in the Linux 7.1 ESWIN EIC7700 clock driver causes a kernel crash during clock registration. The eswin_clk_register_pll() and eswin_register_clkdiv() helpers leave mutually exclusive clk_init_data parent fields uninitialized, allowing stack residue to redirect parent resolution to a bogus pointer. The failure occurs during EIC7700 driver probe, requires affected hardware, and depends on incidental stack contents rather than a documented attacker-controlled input.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
