Kernel memory corruption via stale VXLAN MDB entry
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux kernel VXLAN MDB code allows local users to corrupt kernel memory during multicast database flushing. vxlan_mdb_flush() saves the next list entry, but flushing a (*, G) entry can free that saved (S, G) entry before the loop deletes it again. Reachability requires authority to delete the VXLAN device or issue a bulk RTM_DELMDB request; the demonstrated result is an invalid eight-byte kernel write.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
