Kernel warning via memcg soft-limit reclaim
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
A memory-management flaw in Linux before 6.12.110 allows local users to trigger a kernel warning through cgroup v1 soft-limit reclaim. The soft-limit path calls shrink_lruvec from kswapd for a specific memory cgroup, reaches lru_gen_shrink_lruvec, and invokes set_mm_walk in a context where it warns. Reachability requires the cgroup v1 soft-limit interface and the affected reclaim implementation; the published evidence establishes a warning but not a crash or privilege gain.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
