CVE-2026-93230

Boot panic via premature hugepage metadata inspection

Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026

An initialization-order flaw in Linux 6.7 allows affected systems to compute incorrect zone contiguity during early boot. page_alloc_init_late() walks pageblocks before hugetlb_init() initializes struct pages for gigantic bootmem HugeTLB regions, so set_zone_contiguous() inspects invalid metadata. The affected state requires a noinit bootmem HugeTLB region; additional poisoned-page checks in this path trigger an early boot panic.
