Kernel memory corruption via CDX sysfs double free
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
A double free in the Linux kernel 6.8 CDX bus driver corrupts kernel memory after sysfs resource-file creation fails. The cdx_create_res_attr() failure path frees res_attr but leaves the pointer in cdx_dev->res_attr[], so cdx_destroy_res_attr() later frees the same allocation again. Reachability requires CDX resource-attribute setup to hit a sysfs_create_bin_file() error and then run teardown; no attacker-controlled trigger or consequence beyond memory corruption is published.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
