CVE-2026-93210Hinoki check available

Unspecified impact via invalid DFS target hints

Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026

NULL-pointer dereference in the Linux SMB client allows attackers to cause an unspecified impact via invalid DFS target hints. dfs_cache_noreq_update_tgthint() dereferences ce->tgthint without first checking whether it is NULL, while get_tgt_name() returns an error pointer for the same empty-hint state. The fault requires an empty DFS-cache target hint; upstream material does not establish attacker reachability or a resulting crash or data effect.
