CVE-2026-93185

Unspecified impact via undrained jack work

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026

Work-lifetime mismanagement in Linux Kernel 5.12 allows attackers to cause unspecified impact via RT700 device removal. The rt700_sdw_remove() function skips cancellation of queued jack work when a SoundWire UNATTACHED update has cleared hw_init, leaving work active beyond removal. A QEMU test demonstrated the lifecycle defect, but practical reachability requires removal after detachment with work still pending; real-system reachability and a resulting crash remain unestablished.
