CPU stall via zero-delay DMA polling
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
CPU stalls in the Xilinx DMA driver in Linux allow local users to interrupt processing when hardware fails to complete an operation. The xilinx_dma_poll_timeout calls use zero-delay polling, causing poll_timeout_us_atomic to underestimate elapsed time and busy-wait for minutes instead of approximately one second. Exposure requires the affected driver and a hardware condition that never completes; an attacker-controlled trigger is not documented, and the reported consequence is a prolonged CPU stall rather than a crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
