Memory corruption via uncanceled stack-backed reset work
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Use-after-return in the Linux 6.9 QAT driver allows local users to corrupt kernel memory when SR-IOV reset work times out. The adf_device_reset_worker function returns without canceling work queued on device_sriov_wq, leaving that work referencing its expired stack-backed adf_sriov_dev_data. Exposure requires QAT hardware, SR-IOV reenablement, and a reset timeout; Amazon's assessment requires privileged local access, and the upstream disclosure does not establish code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
