Incorrect hash results via ignored engine timeout
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Incorrect hashing in Linux 6.2 allows local users to receive invalid digests when the Rockchip hash engine times out. In rk_hash_run(), the driver ignores the final DMA idle-poll result, reads digest registers despite a timeout, and reports successful completion. Exposure requires the affected Rockchip hashing driver and an engine that fails to become idle; the disclosure does not establish how attackers trigger that condition.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
