Kernel memory exhaustion via unreclaimed RDMA responses
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Linux allows remote authenticated users to exhaust kernel memory through crafted NVMe-over-RDMA traffic. During queue teardown with I/O in flight, a posted response can lose its send completion, so nvmet_rdma_send_done() and nvmet_rdma_release_rsp() never free its RDMA context and request SGLs. Repeated RDMA connects, queue-depth reads, and disconnects can accumulate these allocations until an out-of-memory condition terminates the NVMe target.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
