Kernel crash via incomplete multi-XCC array initialization
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Null pointer dereferences in Linux 7.2 AMDGPU MES allow local users to crash the kernel through multi-XCC GPU operations. In amdgpu_mes.c, the hung_queue_db_array initialization loop covers only AMDGPU_MAX_MES_PIPES entries, leaving pointers uninitialized for XCC IDs of 2 or greater. The failure requires affected multi-XCC GPU hardware; the advisory does not specify an attacker-controlled trigger or provide a reproducer.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
