CVE-2026-93125

Local privilege escalation via BPF size truncation

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026

Improper size validation in the Linux kernel BPF verifier 6.1 through 7.2.5 allows local users to read and write kernel memory. check_kfunc_args stores an unchecked 64-bit buffer-size constant, and check_kfunc_call truncates it into a 32-bit mem_size used for later access bounds. Loading the crafted program requires CAP_BPF; successful out-of-bounds access enables privilege escalation or a kernel crash.
