CVE-2026-93101Hinoki check available

Crash via skipped subdevice unregistration

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026

Cleanup failure in Linux 6.6 allows physically proximate attackers to crash the kernel by disconnecting an em28xx USB device. In v4l2_async_unregister_subdev(), an empty sd->asc_list skips v4l2_device_unregister_subdev(), leaving a subdevice registered during teardown. The disclosed trigger requires an em28xx device using the tvp5150 I2C driver, whose async registration differs from the older em28xx registration path; the reported consequence is a crash.
