Kernel crash via premature SCMI receive callbacks
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
A setup race in Linux ARM SCMI allows local users to crash the kernel when an interrupt arrives before channel initialization finishes. mailbox_chan_setup() and smc_chan_setup() enable callbacks before publishing channel state, while scmi_chan_setup() leaves cinfo->handle unset until transport setup returns. Vendor assessments require high local privileges, and a pending or spurious callback must arrive during setup to trigger the NULL-pointer fault.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
