Resource leakage via skipped channel cleanup
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Resource leakage in Linux 6.3 ARM SCMI allows attackers to leave transport resources allocated via channel-setup failures. In drivers/firmware/arm_scmi/driver.c, scmi_probe skips channel cleanup after scmi_channels_setup() fails, retaining transport channels, devices, and TX/RX IDR state before freeing the instance ID. The path requires partial channel setup followed by failure; public evidence does not establish an attacker-controlled trigger or a specific crash, hang, or privilege gain.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
