Kernel memory corruption via mismatched feature lengths
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Heap-based buffer overflow in Linux 6.15 through 6.18.51 and 6.19 through 7.2.5 allows local users to corrupt kernel memory. cxlctl_get_feature() allocates from fwctl_rpc.out_len but passes a separate, unbounded count to the device for writing into rpc_out->payload. The attack requires low-privileged local access to FWCTL_RPC; the overwrite compromises kernel memory integrity and system availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
