Kernel memory corruption via oversized SAP message
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Buffer overflow in the iwlwifi MEI component of affected Linux kernel releases allows attackers to corrupt kernel memory via an oversized SAP message. The driver reads a SAP message into a local buffer without first rejecting a length larger than that buffer. The vulnerable path requires the iwlwifi MEI integration to process such a message; no resulting crash, code execution, or data exposure is specified.
