Service interruption via uninitialized scheduler teardown
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Improper teardown in Linux drm/msm allows local users to interrupt service when ringbuffer scheduler initialization fails. msm_ringbuffer_new() invokes msm_ringbuffer_destroy() on failure, which calls drm_sched_fini() despite incomplete initialization of scheduler work items, lists, and workqueue state. Reachability requires the MSM driver and an allocation or scheduler setup failure; public records do not identify an attacker-controlled trigger or distinguish a hang from a crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
