Data corruption via missing GPU job synchronization
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Race condition in the V3D driver in Linux 5.3 allows local users to corrupt GPU buffer data via unsynchronized job submission. In v3d_submit_lock_reservations(), buffer lists attached only to a trailing CACHE_CLEAN job leave consuming RENDER or CSD jobs without implicit dependencies, allowing reads during another context's writes. Triggering requires access to the V3D device and overlapping buffer use; the documented consequence is GPU buffer corruption, not privilege escalation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
