Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked PickleWrapper deserialization
Published Oct 8, 2026 · Updated Oct 8, 2026
Unsafe deserialization in SGLang 0.5.20 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted ZMQ messages. The decoder's _maybe_unwrap_pickle calls pickle.loads() on PickleWrapper payloads without authentication or type allowlisting, including through msgpack when SGLANG_USE_PICKLE_IPC is disabled. Remote exploitation requires enabled data-parallel attention, a non-loopback --dist-init-addr setting, and network access to the affected messaging endpoint.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
