Code execution via unchecked media import
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in four WP Cloud Plugins products 2.0 through 3.8.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute server code. The download_file_to_uploads function writes imported files into the WordPress uploads directory without checking their extension or contents against get_allowed_mime_types(), while can_import() lacks a capability check. Subscriber-level access is sufficient; unauthenticated reachability requires specific shortcode parameters on a public module, and execution depends on the server treating the uploaded file as executable.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=2.0 <=3.8.3
