Secret modification via Backup Viewer authorization flaw
Published Oct 7, 2026 · Updated Oct 7, 2026
Improper access control in Veeam Backup & Replication 12.3.2.4854 and earlier lets remote authenticated users alter protected backup secrets. A Backup Viewer can modify or delete the Enterprise Manager master key and read or overwrite stored antivirus update credentials on the backup server; Veeam has not disclosed the faulty authorization check. Exploitation requires a Backup Viewer account, and the disclosed impact is limited to these key and credential operations rather than code execution.
