CVE-2026-9299Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Service crash via missing session-context validation

Published May 23, 2026 · Updated May 23, 2026

Nil pointer dereference in AMF 2.1.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash the service with a malformed NGAP message. HandlePDUSessionResourceModifyIndication passes a nil session context to SendUpdateSmContextN2Info after a crafted indication references a nonexistent PDU session. A network peer must reach the N2 NGAP interface; the demonstrated consequence is an AMF process panic and service interruption.
