Command execution via unescaped imported bookmark labels
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Stored XSS in SiYuan before 3.8.4 allows remote attackers to execute commands through imported notebook bookmark labels. The notebook import path preserves raw bookmark HTML, which app/src/util/Tree.ts inserts into innerHTML without escaping. Exploitation requires importing a crafted notebook and displaying its bookmark dock; Electron exposes child_process for host command execution, while browser deployments expose session and note data within the application origin.
