Host prototype pollution via incomplete intrinsic protection
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Prototype pollution in vm2 3.11.0 through 3.11.7 allows attackers to corrupt host typed-array behavior via sandboxed code. The bridge's protectedHostObjects inventory omits TypedArray and ArrayBuffer prototypes, so prototype-walking from Buffer forwards property writes into host intrinsics. Access to execute JavaScript in a default VM is required; successful exploitation alters shared host behavior and can disrupt applications without directly reading host data or executing host commands.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
