Credential disclosure via unredacted configuration API responses
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Credential exposure in Checkmk allows remote authenticated users to read stored device secrets through host-configuration REST API GET responses. The host and folder configuration endpoints serialized SNMP community strings, SNMPv3 authentication and privacy pass phrases, and IPMI passwords into response bodies instead of omitting them. The caller must be authenticated and allowed to view host configuration; exposure affects configured credentials in 2.2.0 and releases before 2.3.0p51, before 2.4.0p37, or before 2.5.0p15.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
