Heap disclosure via NUL-truncated line-break option
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Out-of-bounds reads in PHP 8.2 before 8.2.34, 8.3 before 8.3.35, 8.4 before 8.4.26, and 8.5 before 8.5.11 allow attackers to read heap data. Three convert filter constructors use pestrdup(), which truncates line-break-chars at the first NUL, but retain its original length for a later copy. Exploitation requires an application to accept a NUL-containing option and return the filter output; adjacent heap bytes are disclosed, and some builds can crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
