Authenticated cross-user record access via unchecked AJAX authorization
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Authorization bypass in Adenion GmbH Blog2Social 9.1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter other users' records. Multiple AJAX handlers accept b2s_security_nonce without verifying record ownership or action-specific permission, permitting access to attacker-selected records. Contributor-level access exposes the nonce in the post-edit meta box, enabling credential-identifier and content disclosure, metadata overwrite, authorization rebinding, record deletion, and sitewide hiding of scheduled posts.
