File read, write, and deletion via prefix matching
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 19, 2026
Path traversal in decap-server at commit 11f35405cd1a1d1216e97b890173f46436752019 allows attackers to read, write, or delete files via proxy paths. The custom path validator joins untrusted input to the repository path, then accepts any result whose string merely starts with that path, without requiring a path-separator boundary. Exploitation requires control of a proxy API path and a sibling directory sharing the repository-name prefix; successful access is limited by the server process account.
