Unauthenticated file disclosure via unvalidated tag paths
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Path traversal in Uber Kraken 0 through 0.1.29 allows remote attackers to read testfs-accessible files via crafted tag requests. The /tags/{tag} handlers URL-decode the parameter, pass it to DockerTagPather.BlobPath without traversal checks, and testfs joins the resulting path without verifying containment. No authentication or user interaction is required; HEAD exposes file existence and size, while GET discloses content that parses as a SHA-256 digest.
