Cross-tenant data access via UUID-only collection resolution
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 19, 2026
Incorrect authorization in ChromaDB 1.5.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read or modify other tenants' collections. The collection resolver caches and fetches by collection UUID without comparing the URL tenant and database with the collection owner. Exploitation requires a valid account and a known foreign collection UUID, exposing vector records and metadata to unauthorized reads or writes.
