Internal network scanning via unvalidated SQS queue URL
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
SSRF in Quickwit 0 through 0.9.0 allows remote attackers to scan internal services via a crafted SQS queue_url. The create-source path copies any HTTP or HTTPS origin parsed from queue_url into the AWS SQS client, then synchronously requests queue attributes from that destination. The default open-source REST API requires no authentication, and differing errors disclose whether internal ports are open, closed, or filtered.
