Authentication bypass via ignored inherited directives
Published Oct 12, 2026 · Updated Oct 12, 2026
Authentication bypass in Neo4j GraphQL Library 7.6.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to invoke protected top-level @cypher fields. These fields ignore schema-level and Query or Mutation type-level @authentication directives, enforcing only field-level directives. Exposure requires an application relying on inherited protection; configured Cypher executes with service-account privileges, with data access bounded by the statement and account permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
