Credential disclosure via default plaintext FTP
Published Jun 15, 2026 · Updated Jun 15, 2026
Insecure default FTP configuration in Canon EOS Network Setting Tool 1.5.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to obtain authentication data. The communication test selects unprotected FTP by default and sends its authentication information without transport encryption. Exploitation requires a user to run the test while that default remains selected, exposing credentials without reported data modification or service interruption.
