Credential disclosure via improper server certificate validation
Published Jun 15, 2026 · Updated Jun 15, 2026
Improper certificate validation in Canon EOS Network Setting Tool 1.5.0 and earlier allows man-in-the-middle attackers to obtain test credentials. The FTP/FTPS/SFTP communication test accepts an untrusted server certificate, but Canon has not disclosed which certificate check is defective. Exploitation requires a user to run the test while the attacker intercepts its server connection, exposing authentication information.
